Requirements:
- Cert CII Qualification Preferred – preference will be given to candidates with a Cert CII qualification or higher.
- Proven Experience – a minimum of 2 years experience managing large commercial insurance portfolios or in financial services is essential.
- Strong Communication Skills – excellent communication abilities and strong IT skills are essential for building rapport with clients, negotiating effectively with insurers, and delivering exceptional service.
- Proactive Attitude – a proactive attitude and a willingness to learn in order to consistently deliver outstanding results.
Responsibilities:
- Client Management – manage a portfolio of clients from new business through to renewal stage, providing outstanding service and ensuring seamless coordination between all parties involved.
- Assessing Insurance Needs – identify and assess the insurance needs of clients, recommending suitable insurance products and solutions based on their unique requirements.
- Negotiating Insurance Terms – liaise with insurance underwriters on behalf of clients, negotiating insurance terms and premiums to secure favourable deals.
- Policy Administration – issue and administer insurance policies, handling new business placement, renewals, and endorsements with meticulous attention to detail.
- Client Support – respond to client queries, concerns, and claims promptly and professionally to maintain satisfaction and trust.
- Record Keeping – maintain accurate and up-to-date records of clients’ insurance policies and interactions for compliance purposes.
- Industry Knowledge – stay up-to-date with changes in the insurance industry and regulatory requirements, sharing knowledge with colleagues and clients to provide informed guidance.
- Collaboration – collaborate with colleagues in other departments such as claims, risk management, and marketing to ensure clients receive comprehensive service.

About the role
We’re looking for a dedicated client-focused Account Executive to join our team. You’ll be responsible for managing client insurance needs across new quotations, renewals, and mid-term adjustments, ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to quality, professionalism, and expert advice, as well as building on an inherited book of business.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with autonomy, build strong client relationships and deliver outstanding service in a dynamic, supportive and fast-paced environment.
What you’ll be doing
- Inheriting, owning and servicing a substantial book of commercial/corporate business (up to 400k+).
- Managing existing client relationships as well as developing new clients, negotiating with insurers to secure appropriate cover at competitive premiums.
- Supporting with client insurance requirements including renewals, adjustments, quotations as well as providing expert advice when required.
- Producing renewal reports with comprehensive executive summaries.
- Reviewing and issuing accurate documentation and ensuring timely invoicing.
- Maintaining compliance with FCA regulations and company procedures.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders – particularly Client/Account Managers and Claims Executives.
Who we’re looking for
You’ll be a confident communicator with strong technical knowledge and a passion for delivering excellent client service in a fast-paced environment. You’ll need:
- Proven experience as a Commercial or Corporate Account Executive (5+ years)
- A commercial mindset with the ability to maximise income opportunities
- A consistent track record in producing:
- Strong retention and growth on existing business
- Producing and converting new business
- Experience with dealing with client spend of 50-500k and above
- Experience across various client bases such as Manufacturing, Construction, Motor Trader/Fleet, Transport/Haulage/Logistics and Hospitality/Retail
- Confident delivering full programmes and working across Marine, Cyber, Professional indemnity and Management Liability)
- Experience working within FCA regulatory frameworks.
- Strong negotiation, decision-making and organisation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Acturis (desired).
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
